Clogged fuel injectors can hinder a vehicle’s performance, lowering its power and mileage. Keep the engine running smoothly by cleaning the fuel injectors.

TOOLS:

• screwdrivers
• wrenches
• pliers

MATERIALS:

• fuel injector cleaning kit
• 12 volts battery
• carb cleaner
• clean rag
• gloves
• face shield

PROCEDURES:

• remove the cap from the fuel tank to prevent pressure buildup
• remove the fuel injectors from the common rail
• clean the injectors using the kit
• done

REMINDERS:

• do not insert the key into the ignition switch while cleaning the fuel injectors
• keep your work area away from open flames and sparks
• keep an extra o-ring, the fuel injector o-ring must not be reused
• be sure to wear gloves as the cleaner may cause irritation if prolonged skin exposure
