February 6, 2023
Just as humans need oxygen to breathe, a car needs oxygen for the combustion process. The air filter prevents any insects, dust, particles, sand, or debris from reaching the engine and ensures a good mixture of air and fuel to support performance.
SYMPTOMS:
- poor acceleration
- strange noise
- decreased fuel economy
- poor engine performance
TOOLS:
- wrenches
- screwdrivers
- pliers
- wrapper and string or rubber band
- detergent
- wash bowl
MATERIAL:
- new air filter
PROCEDURES:
- open the air filter housing
- disconnect the hoses
- wrap the opening of the hoses just to make sure no dirt gets in
- take out the air filter
- remove the housing and wash it
- let it dry for about 30 to 45 minutes
- put the housing in its place
- put the new air filter
- close the housing
- connect the hoses
- done
REMINDER:
- the air filter must be changed if it is damaged or if it has reached 19,000 to 24,000 km
