Wheel bearings are a vital part of a vehicle’s suspension. Usually located in the wheel’s hub, rotor, or brake drum. Bearings help the wheel rotate smoothly when the vehicle moves.

Tools:

• jacks (mechanical or hydraulic)
• jack stands (at least 2)
• lug wrenches
• combination wrenches
• socket wrenches
• impact wrench (optional)
• screwdrivers
• hammer
• pliers

Materials:

• new bearing
• bearing puller (optional)

Procedures:

• remove the wheel
• remove the brake assembly
• remove suspension assembly
• remove the wheel hub
• pull out the bearing
• insert the new bearing
• reassemble the wheel hub
• reinstall the suspension assembly
• reinstall the brake assembly
• reinstall the wheel
